News Trust of India : Tamil film star Vijay declared his foray into politics on 2 February, before to the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. The actor titled his group Tamilaga Vetri Kazham and stated that he will not participate in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
During his remark, he added, “We have no plans to participate in the 2024 elections and we will not endorse any political party.” We have reached this decision for General and Executive Council Meeting.”
“I have decided to complete the film I have already committed to, without affecting the party work and completely involve myself in the politics of public service.”
“I consider this as my gratitude towards the people of Tamil Nadu,” Vijay stated.
The declaration provoked spontaneous celebrations from his fans, even as whispers were prevalent for some time about the actor taking the political plunge in a state famed for stars transitioning from cinema to politics, including the late veterans M G Ramachandran and J Jayalalithaa.
