Biden will visit India and hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Modi

Washington: The White House has announced that US President Joe Biden will visit India on September 7 to take part in the G20 conference, where he would also meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a private setting.

The White House announced on Friday that the President will fly to New Delhi, India on Thursday to attend the G20 Leaders’ Summit.

President Biden and Prime Minister Modi will have a private meeting on September 8.

President Biden will attend the G20 conference on Saturday and Sunday, when he and other G20 members will talk about a variety of cooperative initiatives to address global concerns, such as the transition to renewable energy and addressing climate change.

Additionally, they will lessen the negative economic and social effects of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and improve the ability of multilateral development institutions, such as the World Bank, to more effectively combat poverty by tackling global issues.

President Biden will praise Prime Minister Modi for his G20 leadership while he is in New Delhi and reiterate the US’ commitment to the G20 as the foremost forum for economic cooperation, including by hosting it in 2026.
