The facelifted 2WD Jeep Compass was released in India for 20.49 lakh

Updated Compass SUV with new variation and limited-edition Meridian SUV are now available from Jeep India. Prices start at 20.49 lakh and go up to 23.99 lakh.

Along with a new variety and a limited-edition of the three-row Meridian SUV, Jeep India has debuted the redesigned Compass SUV. The Black Shark Edition 4X2 option for the Compass SUV is now available, with costs for the top-end model with an automatic transmission ranging from 20.49 lakh to 23.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

The base Compass now has a starting price of less than one lakh rupees. The new Meridian Overland Edition SUV, however, will come with a number of exterior upgrades over the already offered regular vehicles.

While the 2.0-liter diesel engine in the Jeep Compass 2WS Red Black Edition will be mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. Maximum power output for this engine is 168 bhp, and maximum torque is 350 Nm. According to Jeep, this new model will have a fuel efficiency of 16.2 km/l and have a 0–100 kmph acceleration time of just 9.8 seconds. It’s important to note that Jeep decided not to sell a petrol version of its base SUV in India.

The 4×4 automatic variants of the SUV will sit above this special edition Compass. This redesigned Compass has a distinctive exterior color scheme of red and black. The edition has a blacked-out grille, side sills, emblems, and belt line on the outside. The Black Shark logo is also visible on the front fenders. The addition of alloy wheels from the Meridian, albeit with a blacked-out finish rather than a dual-tone pattern, is one notable change.

Speaking of the interior, the SUV has an all-black design with red stitching and accents throughout. The inside of the cabin has a sporty feel thanks to the red highlights and black upholstery. As a result of expanding the availability of automatic transmission options to lower trim levels, Jeep has reduced the price of its automatic transmission models by about 20% in comparison to earlier offerings, bringing down the price of entry-level variations by almost 6 lakh.

The Overland Edition, the most recent special edition of the Meridian SUV from Jeep, was also unveiled today. This new model joins the roster alongside the Meridian Upland and Meridian X, two previous limited edition variations. The Meridian Overland Edition mainly concentrates on aesthetic improvements, including a new grille with chrome surrounds, updated alloy wheels on the exterior, and an interior cabin theme centered around copper accents, emphasized by luxury suede finishing on the seats.
