Punjabi canadian singer Shubhneet Singh’s visit to India cancelled

New Delhi: Punjabi canadian singer Shubhneet Singh’s visit to India has been cancelled by ticket booking app ‘BookMyShow’.

Several users on social media had called for a boycott of the BookMyShow app, alleging that Shubhneet Singh was sympathetic to Khalistanis.

The ‘BookMyShow’ app has cancelled the show and has written on ‘X’ that it will refund the ticket amount in full within 7-10 days.

“Singer Shubhneet Singh’s visit to India has been cancelled. Thus, the entire ticket amount of the customer who has booked tickets for the show will be refunded. The amount of the ticket will be transferred to the original account within 7-10 working days,” bookmyshow said in a statement.

Earlier on Wednesday morning, the hashtag ‘#UninstallBookMyShow’ was trending on ‘X’.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has accused India of being involved in the murder of 45-year-old Khalistani separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar. The Indian official was later expelled by Canada on Monday. On Tuesday, India expelled the Canadian diplomat.

As a result, relations between the two countries have soured and talks on trade have  stalled.
