ED radar on Bollywood: Celebrities attend the $200 million wedding gambling software

The founders of Mahadev Online Betting are under increased pressure from the Enforcement Directorate. Bollywood celebs reportedly attended events that the founders organized in the meantime.

According to reports, Sourabh Chandrakar and Ravi Uppal, the minds behind the contentious Mahadev Online Betting application, are coming under increased pressure from the Enforcement Directorate (ED). Although there are money laundering allegations against these two Chhattisgarh locals totaling 5,000 crore, the Bollywood connection has people talking.

In the past, Chandrakar sold juice off of a little cart in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh. He is currently thought to be in his early 20s. One million individual wagers were placed on the incredible Mahadev app, which is run out of about 30 locations, in only the previous calendar year.

At Chandrakar’s lavish Dubai wedding earlier in 2023, prominent Bollywood stars like Tiger Shroff, Sunny Leone, and Neha Kakkar have surfaced as high-profile guests. The extravagant event cost a stunning 200 crore rupees, according to the Hindustan Times.

The ED only recovered assets totaling 417 crore last week, dispersed among Bhopal, Mumbai, and Kolkata. While Chandrakar and Uppal run their company from Dubai, where gambling is legal, their advertising activities in India have erred on the side of lawlessness, frequently adopting different names to avoid detection.

Bollywood affiliation

It’s important to note that several Bollywood celebrities have been enlisted for YouTube promotional films for the Mahadev Online Book app. The ED has refrained from disclosing the names of those involved, though, exercising prudence. According to HT, a well-known comedian, a character actor, a well-known second-tier male celebrity, and a female comedy star all received payments from the platform.

Bollywood celebs’ engagements continue after the nuptials. According to HT, another Dubai-based party took place in September 2022, and a staggering $40 crore was set aside to hire Bollywood stars to attend. Even better, the event was held at a posh seven-star hotel.

According to HT, the event’s prominent attendees included Atif Aslam, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Ali Asgar, Vishal Dadlani, Elli AvrRam, Bharti Singh, Bhagyashree, Kriti Kharbanda, Nushrratt Bharuccha, and Krushna Abhishek.
