Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry has confirmed that the country’s cricket squad would go to India to compete in the ICC World Cup 2023. Pakistan was threatening to withdraw from the World Cup after India announced that it would not travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup in 2023. In a press release, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry stated that sports should not be involved with politics.
“Pakistan has consistently maintained that sports and politics should not be mixed.” As a result, it has chosen to send its Cricket Team to India to compete in the next ICC Cricket World Cup 2023,” the foreign ministry said in a statement.
According to an official proclamation, Pakistan remains committed to meeting its international sporting duties, despite the current status of bilateral relations with India.
Nonetheless, Pakistan is deeply concerned about the safety of its cricket team under these conditions. Both the International Cricket Council and the Indian government have expressed their concerns.
According to the release, Pakistan’s decision demonstrates its constructive and responsible attitude to India’s unwavering stance. The latter had refused to send its cricket team to Pakistan for the Asia Cup, further complicating the matter.
