LPG Cylinder Leak Causes Fire in Pharmaceutical Factory in Selaqui Industrial Area

NTI : In a tragic incident today, a fire broke out due to an LPG cylinder leak at Plant No. 10 of Hub Pharmaceutical and Research Center, located in the Selaqui industrial area. The fire caused severe injuries to 11 workers who were present in the factory at the time. All injured individuals have been transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The fire department was notified immediately, and upon arrival, fire personnel battled the flames for several hours before successfully extinguishing the fire.

Fire Triggered by LPG Gas Leak

The fire reportedly erupted due to an LPG gas leak in the factory, causing a massive fireball to spread. This led to other nearby LPG cylinders catching fire as well, intensifying the blaze within moments. The situation escalated quickly as the fire grew out of control. Govind Joshi, the HR head of Hub Pharmaceutical and Research Center, informed the fire brigade about the incident. Firefighters arrived promptly and were able to bring the fire under control after strenuous efforts.

11 People Injured in the Incident

The sudden fire created panic among the employees and nearby residents. Firefighters not only worked to control the flames but also evacuated other LPG cylinders from the premises to prevent further escalation. Around 11 people sustained burns in the incident. Selaqui Police Station Officer Shanky Kumar confirmed that all injured workers are receiving medical care at a local hospital. The cause of the LPG leak and the extent of the damage are being investigated.
