On the directions of the Chief Minister, the district in-charge and Char Dham Yatra Secretary, Dr. R Rajesh Kumar, carried out a physical inspection of the ongoing work in Kedarghati following the heavy rainfall, along with the concerned officials. During this, he walked from km 72 to 75 of the Rudraprayag-Gaurikund National Highway and instructed the officials to expedite the work.
During the inspection, the district in-charge secretary inspected the work being done by the PWD’s NH Division and the Irrigation Department. He said that the entire team of the Public Works Department is deployed to repair the damaged road from km 72 of the national highway to strengthen the damaged road. Along with this, he also inspected the final damaged road up to km 75, where JCB machines are working. He has instructed the officials to complete the work at a rapid pace. He informed that in addition to this, other such places have also been identified where there is a high possibility of the road being damaged due to landslides in the future.
During this, the officials of the National Highway informed the district in-charge secretary that a proposal has been submitted to THDC for the strengthening of such identified routes. On this, the district in-charge secretary instructed to include highly sensitive places in the proposal provided.
After inspecting the work being done by the Irrigation Division on both sides of the Son River in Sonprayag, he informed that the work on the left side of the Son River will be started in one or two days. At the same time, instructions have been given to the officials to start the work on the right side of this river immediately. He informed that along with this, the Sitapur parking area is also being inspected. After this, there will also be a detailed discussion with the district administration and the police administration, and the government will be informed about every necessary help to be given to the district administration from the government level.
