Amethi to Get Rs 760 Crore Coca-Cola’s Largest Bottling Plant in India

Amethi, Uttar Pradesh: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is slated to undertake the shilanyas (groundbreaking ceremony) of Coca-Cola SLMG Beverages’ new bottling factory in Trishundi, Amethi, on November 2, 2023. The project, which would be Coca-Cola’s largest bottling plant in India, will be stretched over 35 acres and entail an investment of Rs 760 crore.

The project is planned to provide 900 direct and 1,000 indirect jobs, providing a much-needed boost to the local economy. The land allocation for the facility was finalized by the Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) in a record 17 days, highlighting the state government’s dedication to attracting investments and creating jobs.

SLMG Beverages is the largest bottler for Coca-Cola in India, with seven factories located across Uttar Pradesh. The new factory in Amethi is intended to play a crucial role in addressing the increased demand for Coca-Cola products in the region.

Speaking about the project, Sundeep Bajoria, Vice President, India Franchise, Coca-Cola India, stated, “We are excited to announce the launch of our new bottling factory in Amethi. This is a tribute to our commitment to investing in India and growing our business in this key market. The factory will provide new jobs and opportunities for the local population, and we look forward to cooperating with the Uttar Pradesh government to make this initiative a success.”

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated, “The development of Coca-Cola’s largest bottling factory in Amethi is a cause of tremendous pride for the state. It is a testimonial to the supportive investment environment that we have built in Uttar Pradesh. The initiative will produce new jobs and help the local economy. I am convinced that Coca-Cola’s investment would further improve relations between Uttar Pradesh and the United States.”

The new bottling factory is a big development for Amethi, which has been traditionally recognized for its agricultural and rural economy. The initiative is expected to bring in new investments and opportunities and help develop the neighborhood into a major industrial powerhouse.
