16 Dead, Temple collapses and homes destroyed in Himachal

Himachal Pradesh experiences heavy rainfall. In a tweet, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu expressed his condolences and said he has instructed the authorities to provide the afflicted families with all necessary support and assistance.

The state’s chief minister has announced that 16 persons have perished in two different events linked to severe rainfall in Himachal Pradesh in the past 24 hours. Nine persons were murdered in a landslide at a Shiv Temple in the Summer Hill neighborhood of Shimla city, while seven more perished in a cloudburst disaster that occurred in the Solan district last night.

Following the cloudburst at Solan’s Mamligh village of Kandaghat subdivision, six persons were saved. According to news agency ANI, two homes and one cowshed were lost in the flood.

According to Superintendent of Police for Solan Gaurav Singh, the deceased in Solan were named as Harnam (38), Kamal Kishore (35), Hemlata (34), Rahul (14), Neha (12), Golu (8), and Raksha (12).

In a tweet, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu expressed his condolences and stated that he had instructed the authorities to provide the affected families with all necessary support and assistance.

I was devastated to learn of the horrific cloudburst tragedy in Village Jadon in Dhawla Sub-Tehsil of the Solan District, which claimed 7 precious lives.
