NTI (Dehradun) : The Uttarakhand Health Department and NHM (National Health Mission) are continuously making new efforts to raise awareness about health among the people. As part of this, for the first time, the National Health Mission, Uttarakhand, is going to raise awareness through the game of cricket.
There is a lot of enthusiasm among people for cricket. In such a situation, while people will get to watch cricket matches, they will also be provided with a wealth of health-related information. For this, the National Health Mission Uttarakhand is organizing the Uttarakhand Health Premier League “Cricket Tournament,” in which discussions on eight health-related topics will be held to educate the public.
The Uttarakhand Health Premier League “Cricket Tournament” is going to be organized at the Maharana Pratap Sports College in Dehradun. This Premier League will be held from October 14 to 20, with teams from eight departments of the state participating, meaning that matches will be held between the teams of these departments. The participating teams include NHM Uttarakhand, SIDCUL, the Income Tax Department, the Food Department, UPCL, the Postal Department, PWD, and the Health Department (CMO Dehradun).
Each of these teams has been assigned different health-related topics, which they will discuss. In a conversation with ETV Bharat, Dr. Kuldeep Singh Martolia, Assistant Director of the Health Department, said that the Uttarakhand Health Premier League “Cricket Tournament” is going to be held at the Maharana Pratap Sports College from October 14, where eight teams from various departments will participate.
The main objective of the Uttarakhand Health Premier League is to organize matches based on the themes of the programs being run by the Health Department. The theme assigned to each team will be reflected in their T-shirts. He also mentioned that cricket is a popular game, and it will be broadcast live so that the people of the state can be informed.
NHM has decided on the themes for the teams from the eight departments:
- NHM Uttarakhand’s team will have the theme of complete immunization.
- SIDCUL’s team will focus on tobacco control.
- The Income Tax Department’s team will have the theme of tuberculosis elimination.
- The Food Department’s team will focus on maternal health.
- UPCL’s team will address non-communicable diseases.
- The Postal Department’s team will focus on national waterborne diseases.
- PWD’s team will discuss mental health.
- The CMO Dehradun’s team will focus on child health.
Schedule for the Uttarakhand Health Premier League matches:
- On October 14, at 8:00 AM, a match will be held between the NHM and SIDCUL teams at Maharana Pratap Sports College, followed by a match between UPCL and the Postal Department at 12:30 PM.
- On October 15, at 8:00 AM, a match between the Income Tax Department and the Food Department will take place at Maharana Pratap Sports College, followed by another match at 12:30 PM between PWD and CMO Dehradun.
- Additionally, on October 16, the first match will be between NHM and the Food Department at 8:00 AM at Maharana Pratap Sports College, followed by a second match between UPCL and CMO Dehradun at 12:30 PM.
- On October 17, at 8:00 AM, a match will be played between UPCL and PWD, and the second match will take place at 12:30 PM between NHM and the Income Tax Department.
- On October 17, at Doon Striker Cricket Club, SGRR, the first match at 8:00 AM will be between SIDCUL and the Food Department, and the second match at 12:30 PM will be between the Postal Department and CMO Dehradun.
- On October 18, at Maharana Pratap Sports College, at 8:00 AM, a match will be played between SIDCUL and the Income Tax Department, followed by a second match between the Postal Department and PWD at 12:30 PM.
- The semifinal match will be held on October 19, and the final match will take place on October 20.
