(NTI, Kashipur) : The Special Task Force (STF), in collaboration with the Excise Department and the ITI police station team, conducted a joint operation in Kashipur, where they uncovered a large quantity of counterfeit liquor, chemicals, fake holograms of the Uttarakhand government, wrappers marked with “Gulab,” raw materials, and equipment from inside a factory. One suspect was arrested.
STF Busts Fake Liquor Factory: A fake liquor factory had been operating in the Kashipur area for the past month. The counterfeit liquor produced by the accused was being supplied to the districts of Nainital, Almora, and Udham Singh Nagar. The chemicals and other raw materials used to make the fake liquor were being supplied from Uttar Pradesh. The main accused behind the fake liquor production already has multiple cases registered against him in Uttarakhand and with the Excise Department. The STF team is continuing its search for other accomplices of the liquor mafia.
Factory Operated in a Residential House: The STF had been receiving information for several days that a fake liquor factory was being operated in a house in the Kashipur area of Udham Singh Nagar district. The team had been working on this lead continuously. On Friday, the STF managed to locate the house that had been converted into a liquor factory. The team immediately coordinated with the Excise Department and the ITI police station and conducted a raid. Upon entering the house, they found counterfeit liquor being produced.
One Liquor Mafia Member Arrested: When the team arrived, one person managed to escape under the cover of darkness. Inside the house, a large quantity of ready-made counterfeit liquor branded “Gulab,” chemicals, raw materials, and equipment used for making fake liquor were recovered. Thousands of fake holograms of the Uttarakhand government were also seized. The two youths had rented the house and had been running the fake liquor factory for the past month, unnoticed by the neighbors in the residential area.
Raw Materials Sourced from Uttar Pradesh: According to the police, the counterfeit liquor was being supplied to several districts in Uttarakhand. The STF has found clues regarding the person supplying the raw materials and equipment from Uttar Pradesh, and further action will be taken against him. Meanwhile, the arrested suspect has been booked under several sections at the ITI police station in Kashipur.
25 Cases of Counterfeit Liquor Seized: SSP STF Ayush Agarwal stated that on Friday night, the STF team raided a house in the ITI police station area of Udham Singh Nagar district and uncovered the fake liquor factory operating inside. One suspect, Amandeep Singh, a resident of Kashipur in Udham Singh Nagar district, was arrested. The team seized 25 cases of counterfeit liquor, raw materials, and equipment used for producing the fake liquor.
