Dehradun ( News Trust of India): Embarking on February 22, a new aerial experience awaits from Haldwani, the dynamic financial hub of Kumaon. This aerial odyssey would take travelers from the bustling Golapar helipad in Haldwani to the beautiful kingdoms of Pithoragarh-Munsiyari and Champawat. Parisha Verma, the Upazila Nirbahi Officer, expressed optimism, adding that following the successful trial of this airborne endeavor, the official launch will receive sanction from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
The aviation firm conducted a preliminary flight test from the Golapar helipad on January 19, obtaining the nod of clearance from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) subsequently. Paritosh Verma, the SDM, underscored the thorough preparations conducted by the government to ensure the successful inauguration of the aerial service.
Scheduled to open on February 22, the aerial route from Haldwani to Pithoragarh, Munsiyari, and Champawat promises a tour of unsurpassed experience. Parivesh Verma, the SDM, confessed that upon DGCA’s agreement, the decision to launch the service post-successful trial was finalized. The initial flight from Haldwani to Munsiyari is slated for 7:45 am, to Pithoragarh at 9:35 am, and to Champawat at 11:05 am.
Tickets for Champawat are priced at Rs 2500 per person, while for Pithoragarh and Munsiyari, costs have been capped at Rs 3000 and Rs 3500, respectively. With the introduction of these airborne crossings, passengers have yet another outlet for their trips, perhaps fueling a spike in tourism activity. The spike in tourists visiting Chota Kailash following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit motivated the government’s decision to debut this flying service.
