Darbhanga Police Busts International Sex Racket

Darbhanga : In a shocking development, the Darbhanga police have successfully busted an international sex racket with alleged links to Bangladesh. The operation led to the arrest of four individuals, including a local journalist, and the rescue of several women.

The mastermind behind the racket is believed to be a husband-wife duo, Sonu Kumar and Chhoti Devi, residents of Darbhanga. Their operation involved trafficking women from Bangladesh to India and forcing them into prostitution.

A press conference held by City SP Shubham Arya unveiled the details of the case. The police acted on a tip-off and conducted a raid on a guest hotel in the Mahdauli area of Wajitpur. A couple found in a compromising position was arrested, with the male suspect identified as local journalist M Raja.

Investigations revealed that the racket had been operating for a considerable period, with the accused supplying women to a large number of clients. The police have recovered a Bangladeshi passport and visa from one of the arrested women, indicating the transnational nature of the crime.

While the woman from Bangladesh is currently being treated as a victim, the police are conducting a thorough investigation to establish her exact role in the racket. Legal action will be taken against all the accused based on the findings of the investigation.

The police have warned that more arrests are likely as the probe deepens. This case highlights the alarming issue of human trafficking and the organized crime networks involved in such activities.
