Chamoli, NTI: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited Badrinath Dham today. During his visit, he performed prayers and sought blessings from Lord Badri Vishal. CM Dhami also interacted with pilgrims, gathering feedback about their experiences on the yatra (pilgrimage).
While at Badrinath Dham, CM Dhami inspected the ongoing development projects and the master plan initiatives, part of Prime Minister Modi’s vision for the region. He met with the local priests of Badrinath Dham and engaged in dialogue with the rights-holders (Haq-Haqook Dhari). Additionally, CM Dhami spoke with local shopkeepers, inquiring about their well-being. The local trade association expressed happiness at meeting the Chief Minister and thanked him for ensuring a smooth and well-managed pilgrimage season this year.
Badrinath Dham Closing on November 17
The sacred Badrinath Dham, part of the Chardham pilgrimage, will close its doors on November 17, marking the official end of the 2024 yatra season. Other Chardham sites, including Gangotri, Yamunotri, and Kedarnath, have already closed for the winter. The Chardham Yatra will resume next year in April or May, based on auspicious timings.
Located in Chamoli district, Badrinath Dham is nestled along the banks of the Alaknanda River, surrounded by snow-capped peaks. With winter setting in, temperatures drop below zero, making it challenging for pilgrims to visit. Following an ancient tradition, the idol of Lord Badrinath is taken to Joshimath in November for winter reverence, ensuring that devotees can continue to worship during the colder months.
