Mumbai : Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami led a high-profile roadshow in Mumbai today to catalyze investment and accelerate the state’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) growth within the next five years. The roadshow, organized in preparation for the Global Investor Summit in Mumbai, witnessed the Chief Minister engage with leading industrial conglomerates from across the country to explore potential investment opportunities in Uttarakhand. He also extended invitations to all investors to participate in the upcoming Global Investment Summit, scheduled to be held on December 8-9.
Emphasizing Mumbai’s significance as the nation’s economic hub and a pivotal component of India’s developmental trajectory, the Chief Minister also underscored Uttarakhand’s role as the spiritual capital of the country, highlighting the imperative for collaboration between the two regions. In his address, the Chief Minister reiterated the importance of technological innovation and managerial expertise in propelling a nation’s progress, while also acknowledging the vital role of spiritual strength and tranquility.
Uttarakhand, in pursuit of its ambitious objective of doubling its GSDP within five years, has launched the ‘Strong Uttarakhand Mission’ initiative, with the 2023 Uttarakhand Global Investors Summit forming an integral part of this endeavor. Stressing the potential for sustainable employment generation through increased investments in Uttarakhand’s industrial sector, the Chief Minister noted that the state has already received investment proposals exceeding Rs. 1 lakh crore, signaling the enthusiasm of both domestic and international entrepreneurs to invest in the state.
He commended the state government’s initiatives to promote Ease of Doing Business by implementing the principles advocated by the Prime Minister for effective governance. The Chief Minister highlighted the improvements made to the state’s single-window approval system for licenses and the introduction of a comprehensive one-stop-shop for business establishment and operation approvals. He assured industrial groups of a hassle-free process for setting up industries in Uttarakhand and emphasized the government’s commitment to creating investor-friendly policies within a robust framework.
Present at the event were Chief Secretary Dr. S.S. Sandhu, Secretary Dr. R. Meenakshi Sundaram, Secretary of Industries Vinay Shankar Pandey, Director-General Industries Rohit Meena, Director-General of Information Banshidhar Tiwari, and representatives from various industry groups.
