Chief Minister Launches ‘Three-Pillar, Nine-Point Strategy’ for Economic and Ecological Balance in the State

NTI (Dehradun): In a significant step towards sustainable development, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami unveiled the ‘Three-Pillar, Nine-Point Strategy Program,’ aimed at achieving a balance between economic growth and ecological preservation in the state. The program, developed by the Planning Department, emphasizes three key pillars: Community Empowerment Campaign, Innovation and Technology Campaign, and Financial Autonomy and Literacy Campaign.

Speaking at the launch event, Chief Minister Dhami highlighted the need for a collective effort to fulfill Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India. He stressed that while development is crucial, equal importance must be placed on environmental conservation. “We all need to contribute towards maintaining this balance. This strategy will guide all government departments to work efficiently and achieve sustainable development,” he said. He urged the departments to take a resolution during the auspicious Navratri festival to push forward this initiative with renewed vigor.

The Three-Pillar Approach

The program adopts a three-pronged strategy under each of its pillars to address the dual goals of economic and ecological sustainability.

  1. Community Empowerment Campaign: This pillar focuses on recycling traditional practices, promoting behavior change for appropriate consumption, and upgrading the skills of youth to foster sustainable living.
  2. Innovation and Technology Campaign: It aims to promote green technologies, offer technology-based solutions for environmental challenges, and encourage the adoption of a circular economy to reduce waste and optimize resource use.
  3. Financial Autonomy and Literacy Campaign: This pillar seeks to standardize green practices, encourage participation in carbon credit systems, and create strategies for bridge funding to support sustainable projects.

A Collaborative Effort for Sustainability

The Chief Minister urged all departments to take swift action on the strategies introduced. He underscored the importance of collaboration between departments to ensure the success of the program, which he described as a key initiative for balancing economic progress with ecological preservation.

The launch event saw the presence of key officials including Chief Secretary Radha Raturi, Additional Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, Principal Secretary Justice Pradeep Pant, and several other senior officials. Their participation marked the start of a collaborative effort across departments to implement the ambitious strategy.

This program comes at a crucial time, as the state government intensifies its focus on creating a sustainable model for development that can serve as an example for the rest of the country. The ‘Three-Pillar, Nine-Point Strategy’ is expected to play a pivotal role in achieving this balance while driving economic growth.
